We also reserve the right to change our mind and keep a pup that may have been available.

Second picks go to show homes, often the show home owners the people have been on our waiting list waiting for the combination they are looking for, for a number of years.

Then the pups are allocated to those on the waiting list who have filled in the expression of interest, have been approved and are allocated in the order the return of the contract of sale and deposits are recieved.

  • If you are going to desex your dog there is very little difference.

If you do not intend to desex your dog, the male dog can be rather dominate and will require extra training.

The female will still mark her territory somewhat similar to that of a male and she will come into heat and bleed for several weeks, and some tend to be moody when in heat. A female that is not desexed must be confined during heat as she will go and look for a male to breed with. Female not desex can get plyometric which is life threatening

The Chow Chow male if not desexed can be a handful. Highly recommend they are desexed once growth is completed.

  • Parents are health checked well beyond minimum requirements.

We have done extensive research into all lines that are a part of our breeding program,

Our current breeding stock that we own have all been DNA test for genetic disease that are available for the breed or conducted by parentage

None our breeding dogs have had any breathing, heat, skin or respiratory or skeletal issues that result in visible issues.

None have undergone or needed to undergo any surgery to correct breathing issues.

Tests vary from breed to breed all of our dogs have been tested for inheritable diseases that can be detected via DNA, all breeding dogs have under gone various other health tests that do vary from dog to dog, (*Not all dogs have had all tests and not all tests are relevant to both breeds)

    Test that we undertake are:

    Hips Scoring

    Elbow Scoring

    Spine Scoring

    Thoracic Inlet

    Heart Doppler

    Patella's

    Eye exams

Examination of pallet and overall respiratory system

ETT (will be conducted once available)

  • We do not allow anyone to touch or go near the pups before they are 8 weeks of age, this is due to disease transmission.

Also, mothers are not keen on people visiting their pups, some will try to remove the smell of stranger from their pups and accidentally harm their pup getting rd of the scent.

Our property is quarantined when we have young pups. Once the mothers have been mated they are not available for viewing, disease can be bought in on clothing and cause abortion of pups or results in a still born litter

Our Chow Chows are guard dogs so it is not possible to arrange for home viewings, while pups are young.

We do show our dogs, if you are in the area where we are showing you are welcome to meet us at a dogs show.

  • Yes, but only at a dog show. Often our litter are gained via imported frozen semen, so the sire will not be able to be viewed.

  • No, this depends on the individual genetics that each pup receives from its parents. Remember, grandparents, great grandparents and great great grandparents will impact on the colours.

This will also impact on many other features. We have a family page it has photos of a number of the dogs that could impact on your pup. We have tried to collect photos of these dogs and put these photos on the prospective parents page.

Remember colour is not an indication of the quality and features of the dog, just because it has a great colour that doesn't mean it will look any good.

Please note "Rare" colours are not acceptable in the British Bulldog and are classified as incorrect, rare colours have been linked through scientific research to be predisposed to greater health issues than those of standard colours, Rare colours are also more often than not a crossbreed, e.g. merle is NOT possible in the bulldog.

  • All breeds of dogs regardless of what you have, has the potential to have health issues.

Genetics plays a part here too, on the odd occasions, something that hasn't been seen many, many generation may come out, this is out of our control.

The dogs that we are breeding from do not have any known or reported genetic issues.

The majority of health problems are not genetic, but come from the environment they live in and a general health is directly related to diet and life style, very much like us.

Pet insurance is highly recommended, we do not pay your vet bills.

Please research the breed you are interested in, feel free to talk to us regarding any concern you may have. Both the British Bulldogs and the Chow Chow have associated health issues (as do any breed of dog) good breeding programs should limit any of these issues. We have done what we can do to reduce any issues. We do not breed from dogs with know respiratory or heart issues.

  • We reside in South East Queensland, where we have long hot and humid Summers, They do not have issues with the heat, the level of heat tolerance varies from dog to dog.

Common sense must prevail, Do Not exercise your dog in the heat of the day. m

Make sure they have access to shade and fresh water.

In Summer, they love water or a cool hole in the sand or dirt. If your dog appears to be suffering from the heat give it access to water to lay in or put in air conditioning.

If breathing is ever distressed seek immediate veterinary assistance. If your dog is overweight it will have increased problems with heat.

CHOW CHOWS: they are double coated, this is for insulation, keeps them cool in summer and warm in winter the same as wool on a sheep. NEVER NEVER EVER shave a Chow Chow.

  • Yes they can, please note like you, tolerance needs to be built, young dogs need time to develop.

Our dogs are walked most days up to 5km to keep them in good health, distance vary from dog to dog and the age of the dog will also determine distance.

DO NOT run or jump young dogs or take to the beach, this is the leading cause of hip displacement (not genetics) in the BBD and ACL injuries in the Chow Chow.

Do NOT walk young dogs long distance, exercising guidelines will be included in your puppy pack.

  • Generally, yes they can, however they are not water dogs so you would need to keep an eye on them. Do not take for granted that they can swim, some just don't get it. We do have one that goes out on the surfboard and another that swims somewhat similar to a rock. Always supervise dog around water.

  • BULLDOGS: In general, yes. The majority of the dog's behaviour is established form the way it is treated and trained and the way you react to other dogs. The dog you end up with is the dog you have created.

CHOW CHOW: they MUST be trained, they MUST be human socialised. Walked on a lead around as many dogs and people as physically possible. NEVER take a Chow Chow to a dog off leash area, they DO NOT tolerate dogs in their personal space. If you don't do this type of training before they are 5 months of age you may just have a very hard to handle dog on your hands.

  • They are intelligent and easy to train, but that super cute face can train you faster than you can train them, if you are not careful. They need boundaries and love to make you happy.

Our 5 month old British Bulldog has passed her level 2 obedience training with ease, Our Chow Chow passed level 3 at just 8 months of age. The dog you get is the dog you create.

  • Yes, dogs do not suffer from separation anxiety, people do. The owners teach their dogs to have separation anxiety. Always make sure your dogs has access to shade and fresh water and a safe secure environment and out of the heat.
